Public Auctions

About our Public Auctions

We hold Public Auctions to give members to opportunity to sell koi to a large market, and the general public (and other members) the opportunity to purchase quality koi. Bins and airlines are provided to sellers, and a small percentage of each sale goes to the Society.

Where and When?

Sunday 11 September 2011

Viewing from 9:30am, Bagged fish sales from 10am, Auction starts at 10:30am

The date is available on this page and our Homepage when confirmed, and the auction is advertised in local papers and at koi retail outlets.

Buying at a Public Auction

Come along on the day and bid. Bidders do not need to be members of KSWA. Bidders will need to leave their contact details to receive a bidding number. When you have finished bidding, you may take your bidding number back to the Helpdesk, make payment then receive the koi you have purchased.

Bags will be available on the day, however some buyers chose to also bring a box to stabilise the bag on the trip home.

Buyer's fees: an extra 5% of top of your final bid is payable to the Club. An extra 5% is also payable on bagged fish sales.

If you purchase a fish listed in the auction AFTER the auction, an extra 15% on top of the purchase price is payable.


Please remember we accept CASH only, however you can visit an ATM down the road after you have finished bidding & return to make payment.

Selling at a Public Auction

If you would like to sell some fish in one of our Auctions, you will need to be a current member of KSWA and make a booking before the day - contact details of who you need to book with can be found in the newsletter.

Please ensure you do make a booking before Auction day; entries on the day cannot be accepted as bins and air lines need to be booked and organised in advance.

Fish need to be in the bins by 09:30am. All fish that are under 25cm AND have a reserve price of less than $50.00 must be sold as a bagged fish on the table. Fish that are under 25cm AND have a reserve price of $50.00 or more can be placed in the bins for auction, but only to a maximum of 10 fish of this size.

Sellers fees: 10% of your total sales goes to the Club.
